What is the FAFSA?

  • The Free Application for Federal Student Aid
  • The FAFSA qualifies students for federal and state financial aid and grants 
  • ALL students should complete the FAFSA, even if they believe they won't qualify for financial aid
  • Students can complete the FAFSA beginning October 1st


FAFSA DOs AND DON'Ts for the 2017 Application Process


  • Apply for an FSA ID by clicking here
  • Go to the FAFSA website to complete the application, click here 
  • Complete the application for the 2018-2019 FAFSA
  • Use your 2016 tax information when completing the FAFSA 
  • Enter as much contact information as possible


  • Complete the FAFSA with your 2017 tax information 
  • Enter minimal contact information
  • Rush through it!  The FAFSA must be completed correctly in order to process
