Fairfield Community Schools News Article

Message From The Superintendent

Fairfield Community Schools is aware that COVID-19 cases are rising significantly and Elkhart County has now moved to orange on the state metric. This metric lags by 7-10 days from the current data, so there is a distinct possibility that the orange designation will continue or possibly increase to red next week. While schools generally reflect circumstances in their communities, Fairfield Community Schools continue to function relatively well, and it is our intent to follow data in our schools rather than the Elkhart County data. The Elkhart County Health Department is in favor of this "surgical approach". Our plan is to remain open and continue to offer both on-site and distance learning. Should there be a need to change this approach, it will be at the classroom, or in an acute case, at the school level. Again, outside of a state or an Elkhart County mandate, we intend to follow our data and keep our school district open.

Sincerely,
Dr. Robert Evans
Superintendent
