Braxton Davis

The Fairfield High School class of 2023 has graduated, diplomas in hand, and are into the next steps in their chapters of life.

One of the stories that developed from the most recent class was of Braxton Davis. The graduated senior was a student-athlete, a member of the basketball team in the winter, but also carried a passion for computer technology. Davis was able to finish his senior year with something no one else from the class had, his Comp Tia A Plus certification.

Davis is continuing his technology trajectory at Ball State University this fall majoring in computer technology, potentially working into a focus on coding.

The computer tech support class curriculum is based on practical application and the industry standard Comp Tia A Plus certification.  This certification is recognized as a benchmark for a
sufficient skill level for beginner Information Technology careers. The Comp Tia A Plus exam is the first required certification for a multitude of Information Services careers.

“We received funding for the exams this year and Braxton Davis passed both sections,” noted FJSHS technology teacher Carrie Replogle, who oversees the tech program. “It is a hardware exam 220-1101 and a software exam 220-1102.  People must pass both sections to receive the official certification.

“Everyone in the class took the first section, hardware, and many were very close to passing.”

Replogle also noted those still in the tech program at Fairfield that are close to completing their certifications are actively working on that achievement, including in the summer months.
