Fairfield got their man, and he’s certainly familiar with the Falcon brand.

Cory Stoner has been tabbed to be the next football coach for the Fairfield football program, coming over from Jimtown High School. His hiring is pending board approval.

Stoner has been in charge of the Jimtown football program for the past four seasons, an opponent of Fairfield’s this past season in the sectional. His success at the helm yielded quite a few accolades in a short amount of time, winning three NIC small school titles and Stoner was named the NIC Coach of the Year three times.

Stoner also served as the school’s head baseball coach for the past six seasons.

Stoner, 33, is a Mishawaka High School and Bethel College graduate where he played baseball for the Pilots. In 2023, Stoner earned the prestigious Baugo Community Schools District Teacher of the Year.

His wife, Richele, is a 2009 Fairfield graduate and the two have four children - Luke (8), Sam (6), Cole (4), Caroline (2).

“My passion in life is teaching and coaching and have no doubt that is what God has called me to do,” began Stoner. “I am incredibly honored and humbled to have the opportunity to do that as the next football coach at Fairfield High School. Fairfield is a community that I have seen as a hard-working and loyal community of supporters for everything Fairfield that I can't wait to be a part of.”

On becoming the next coach for Fairfield football, Stoner added, “I’m looking forward to moving my family to the community and working alongside our great student-athletes and administration at Fairfield High School to take the program to new heights!”
