Today was May Madness at Fairfield High School. Students had a chance to take a break from traditional learning to watch movies, play games, make crafts, or just relax and read a book. As the school winds down, it was a great change of pace for both students and staff.

Each year, 4th and 5th-graders at Millersburg Elementary partake in the MES Reading Challenge. The students need to read 40 books and write summaries of the books they read. Students who completed the challenge got to go to Paige's Crossing last Thursday as a reward.

The Fairfield Junior High School Band performed for some of our elementary students. It was great to see the positive energy in the auditorium as kids learned about different instruments and heard songs that they've been preparing for the end of the year.

Fairfield's Trey Branneman participated in Start Up Moxie and was selected to present his pitch at the Pitch Showcase. Trey was the first student from our school to participate, and his pitch of Cozy Cottages helped him win a $1,000 scholarship.

Tonight is the Fairfield Art Festival. Doors open at 4:30 at the FJSHS Main Gym, with the ceremony at 7 pm. Tickets are $10 per family or $5 per individual. Great job by all of our Fairfield Artists!

Bus Driver Appreciation Day
Aubrey Steiner, Malachi Wilson, and Brenna Alsman from New Paris Elementary will have their artwork on display through April and May. CAPS has partnered with IUSB Elkhart Center to display items for the "Future Me" Art Gallery. Students from all over the area made pieces reflecting what they want to be when they grow up. The artwork is displayed at 125 E Franklin Street in Elkhart.

Fairfield Cosmetology students participated in the SkillsUSA State Conference Competition at the beginning of April.
Fairfield's Yasmin Yepez-Chavez took Gold in Esthetics. Yasmin & Rosa Cuatepotzo (Goshen-Barbering) will be advancing to the National level to be the Representatives for Indiana in Esthetics & Barbering!

Nationals are in Atlanta, Georgia, the first week of June.
