These individuals are the true backbones to our buildings and departments! If you see one, wish them a Happy Administrative Assistant's Day. Might make their day!

As we noted a year ago, Fairfield Jr/Sr High School teacher Jim Jones was named one of three educators from Indiana to receive the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST).
Jones, Amanda Horan of Bishop Chatard High School and Nora Walsh of Evansville Reitz High School were on hand Thursday in Indianapolis to be honored as Indiana state finalists with an emphasis on STEM teaching.
The three were made known one of them will be selected for the national PAEMST award, which will be announced at a future date.
Congrats again to Mr. Jones for his years of excellent teaching with Fairfield Community Schools and for being named one of the top STEM educators in the state!

Our state-bound Fairfield Cosmetology Department students are on their way to Indianapolis this morning to compete in the Skills USA State Finals. The nearly two dozen competitors also brought a bus full of donation items with them, collected for the past two weeks for the Indiana Burn Camp.
Good luck to our Cosmo students as they look to earn state glory and potentially a spot in the Skills USA Nationals in Atlanta this summer!
From the darkness to the light! New Paris Elementary held its annual Art Show Tuesday night and the blacklight room was a tremendous hit. Displays with glowing works from the NPE students shined and brought a wide amount of interest from the big crowd that visited the school. Huge congratulations to New Paris art teacher Melissa Carl for putting together the event and creating a fun and vibrant way for the student's art to come alive!

April 1-5 - National Assistant Principal's Week (Nick Jones and Adam Tomlinson at FJSHS)
April 3 - Paraprofessional Appreciation Day (all four buildings)
April 4 - School Librarian Appreciation Day (all four buildings)

Happy Easter to our Fairfield Community!

Millersburg had a busy end to its week, honoring its grandparents with the annual Grandparent's Day!
Class activities, obstacle courses in the gym, personal tours of the school, the kids spared no opportunity to show off their school. A special thank you to all of the grandparents who were able to attend and make it a memorable day for our Millersburg students!

Spring sports opened up this past week, with softball getting in a pair of home games while track competed at the HSR State Finals.

The Indianapolis 500 Festival and Education Program made its pitstop at Millersburg Elementary Middle School on Monday. The free program for fourth grade students in Indiana, MEMS was joined by its friends from Parkside Elementary in Goshen for the Mobile Study Trip curriculum.
Indy 500 representatives offered classroom lessons with interactive and hands-on stations both outside by the actual Indy car, or inside at stations set up in the Millersburg building.
The Indy 500 Education Program has toured the state for two decades, reaching nearly 450,000 students statewide. The 2023 program visited 337 schools including Millersburg, impacting more than 23,000 Indiana fourth graders in nearly every county in the process.
They have been on top of their game the entire winter, and look to remain there with entry at this weekend's Indiana Percussion Association Region A State Finals at Avon High School. The Fairfield High School Indoor Percussion program has been first place at every invite the entire season, and look to keep that trend going at the State Finals, and we wish them nothing but the best as they compete.
Bring it home!
Fairfield's trip to South Bend this past Tuesday turned into quite the honor roll, so to speak.
The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards ceremony at the South Bend Museum of Art yielded regional awards for several FHS students, and an Excellence award to boot.
Katelyn Todd was named the Jim Borden Memorial Award winner as well as the St. Joe Valley Watercolor Society Award winner, joining classmate Allison Tinsley with the SJV honor. Ava Packer was named Art League Award winner and Elizabeth Cunningham grabbed the Northern Indiana Pastel Society award.
Also awarded was Fairfield art teacher Wendi Sparks, who was part of the Shein Trust Excellence in Teaching Award, joining South Bend Clay's Benjamin Murray-Oates and Ninette Deliyannides to receive the Shein. To earn the Shein award, educators are selected based upon components of Scholastic Award entries, Gold and Silver Keys as well as school size.
Congratulation to all of the Fairfield winners from the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards!
