Dreams of an undefeated season came to an end Tuesday for the Lady Falcons hoops team. Northridge’s patented defensive pressure held Fairfield at bay in a 38-25 grinder in favor of the hosts. Northridge held Fairfield to just 10 points in the second half, and while the Raiders only scored three points in the fourth quarter, it scored 17 in the third to pull away. The Lady Raiders also forced Fairfield into 24 turnovers in the game. Eva Herbert had eight points and eight rebounds in the loss while Madison Jones added five points and six boards. The JV didn’t fare any better, losing to the Raiders 44-13. Haddee Herbert scored nine points in the team’s first JV loss of the season.

Despite trailing 11-2 early in the first half, Fairfield would rally to take a four-point lead at the half and hold Busco to just 10 second-half points in a 48-34 Northeast Corner Conference win Thursday night. Herbert and Kaylee Dillon combined for 27 of Fairfield’s points and added 10 total rebounds and five steals. Jones chipped in 10 points and four rebounds. The JV rebounded from Tuesday with a 50-18 win over the Eagles Thursday night. Gisel Lopez led all scorers with 11 points, followed by Hayden Minder with 10 points and Zoie Miller with eight points.

Wrestling had Kayla Hochstetler and Addison Schrock both working at the West Noble Girls Invite on Saturday. Hochstetler was 0-3 in her three matches in the 135 flight, while Schrock was 3-1, all three of her wins coming against Fort Wayne Snider opponents. Schrock’s only loss in 190 class action came against Amber Handshoe of Prairie Heights.
