Benton celebrated not only the arrival of Fall Break, but also the 50th Day of School on Thursday!
Kindergarten did 50 in style, with the teachers in their best sock hop garb handing out root beer floats, while second grade were among the party animals enjoying some fellowship as the clock ticked toward the final bell of the week.
Enjoy your break, everyone!

The holiday season is just about here, and Fairfield Community Schools are getting a jump on the season with its Sponsor-A-Fairfield Family initiative.

They run the show so we don't have to!
A hearty pat on the back today to all the bosses out there. Enjoy your day!

Benton Elementary held its Quarterly awards, issuing merits of success for the first quarter of the 2023-24 school year. Salute to all of those who were recognized, and a 'keep working hard' to everyone!

Benton Elementary held its Walk-A-Thon Friday morning, creating a path of worn grass around the eastern edge of the school grounds. Several stations were set up for games to break up the mundane walking, including a soccer dribbling course, wiffle ball toss and hula hoops among the parade route. The Benton Fire Department were also on hand with a smoke machine to greet walkers on the front stretch and walked with several of the classes throughout the day.

Update: The Fairfield Food Pantry has a new home! It's now located just east of SR 15 on the corner of CR 142 and CR 23 in New Paris!

Fairfield hosts rival Jimtown in the first round of the IHSAA Football Sectional, game set for Oct. 20.

Your kids were off school on Friday - here's why!
Our teachers were participating in what's called Response To Intervention, or RTI, where they spent the day at Fairfield Junior/Senior High School learning about the processes of RTI and how it correlates to helping our students better themselves. The RTI process fits into the overall Professional Learning Community, or PLC, which Friday was bolstered by a pair of guest speakers: Mike Mattos, who joined the teachers virtually from California, and in person by Eric Twadell, both sharing initiatives and strategies for our teachers to utilize in their own classrooms.

"Life is a beautiful mess, embrace the chaos and find joy in the imperfections."
We often overlook those who clean up our messes, and in the case of our campuses, we cannot overlook the tireless and thankless efforts our custodial staffs do to keep our buildings in great shape.
THANK YOU CUSTODIANS as we celebrate you on National Custodian Day!!!
