Madison Jones hit her first high school homer, reached base three times and scored on all three occasions to lead Fairfield to an 11-5 victory over visiting Northridge on Monday. Jayslynn Hall doubled in a pair and both Faith Berkey and Preslee Caouette had a hit and two runs scored. Berkey struck out six Raiders in the circle, and Fairfield was aided by five Ridge errors, normally a fundamentally sound program.

Three days later hosting Concord, Fairfield found itself down seven runs after two, but scored 13 runs in the final two innings to stun the Minutemen, 18-10. Adelyn Holsopple had a career day, blasting two homers and driving in five while Hall also knocked one out of the park. Lilly Yoder had a career-high four RBIs while Riley Kirkdorffer drove in a pair of runs. Fairfield welcomed Berkey back to the circle after she suffered an injury against Northridge, Berkey striking out five in relief to get the win.

The Fairfield JV had Yoder strike out nine and limit Northridge to just two hits in a 14-4, three-inning shortie in the day’s second contest. Yoder helped her own cause with three RBIs, and Fairfield also had three RBIs from Ava Cripe. The JV crushed Concord in a shortened contest, 13-3, using four RBIs each from Grace Liechty and Addie Schrock.

On a night with super windy conditions, Fairfield took what NorthWood gave it to pile up a 15-9 win over the visiting Panthers. Eight hits, 11 walks and four Panther errors had Fairfield constantly in motion on the base paths, scoring 13 of its runs before the fourth inning. Lilly Yoder had a double, two walks and drove in three while Lynelle Penrose and Kinslyn Pressler each had two hits, two RBI and combined to score six runs. Jones struck out six to earn the win.

In the shortened JV contest, NorthWood outscored Fairfield 8-2 in three innings. Natalie Lenker had a double and scored for the Lady Falcons.

Goshen held a tenuous 3-2 lead before Fairfield’s offense erupted in a major way Tuesday afternoon. A 12-run third inning blew the game wide open in a 15-7 Falcon baseball win in its season opener.

Every Fairfield player either scored or drove a run in, led by homers from Keegan Miller and Landon Miller, while Eli Miller drove home three and crossed the plate three times.

Keegan Miller and Owen Garrison combined to strike out 11 RedHawks while limited them to

two hits on the day.

Fairfield crushed Tippecanoe Valley at home on Thursday, using a homer and four RBIs from Landon Miller in a 15-0 win. Miller also struck out seven in his season pitching debut, allowing just three hits in four innings of work. Michael Slabaugh was 4-for-4 with a double, two triples and five driven in. Garrison added two doubles and two RBIs.

JV had Logan Miller not allow a run while fanning three, and helped his cause with two hits and an RBI in Fairfield’s 11-6 win over Goshen. Grady Garber and Grady Chupp each tripled and combined for three RBIs in the game.

Thursday against Concord, the JV fell 14-9. Drew Beachy was perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a walk and three runs scored. Andrew Mathews added a run for the Falcons.

The last program in town before spring break, the Fairfield varsity baseball team rallied to beat South Bend Adams in 11 innings, 7-6. Trailing 6-5 in the 11th, Landon Miller drove in the tying run with a single, and Owen Garrison had the walk-off on a bases loaded single to move the Falcons to 3-0 on the season.

Sawyer Ernsberger drove in two, Slabaugh had three hits and a pair of runs scored, and Luke Mast got the win in relief, working two innings of one-hit ball.

The Falcon JV ran past Adams, 10-4 in the Saturday nightcap. Garrett Stoltzfus doubled, tripled and drove in four to lead the Falcons. Grady Chupp doubled and scored twice in the win.
