Fairfield FFA had a very unique opportunity to attend a Farm Bureau seminar at the Showalter Farm in Benton Tuesday afternoon. What made the trip extra special was guest speaker, Congressman Rudy Yakym, who represents Elkhart County, and was on hand to tour the farm and hold a Q&A with the 50-plus people in attendance.
Yakym posed for pictures with the FFA as well as toured the Showalter facilities among his stop in the area. Fairfield FFA, led by advisor Karrin Koontz, brought nearly a dozen students to take part in the experience.

We had an AWESOME time celebrating the first-ever Fair In The Field this past weekend! Thank you to the community for the strong turnout, to all of the support staff and businesses that helped make the event a success, and for a great momentum builder for the Fairfield school year.

Sports are heating up at Fairfield, with both volleyball and cross country jumping into their season schedules to join girls golf on the active list.

As promised, here's a second set of photos from the first half of our opening week at Fairfield Community Schools. It's going to be a fun year!

'I'm really excited to be back at school!' were the words of a young lady entering Benton Elementary School Wednesday morning as part of the first day for students for the 2023-24 school year. Fairfield Community Schools were back in session, which Wednesday's return to the classroom was an apex to a week of prep and anticipation at all four of the district buildings! Here's a photo set from all around this week, and we'll drop another album later this morning!
WELCOME BACK!

Come one, come all, and join us for an exciting afternoon at Fairfield’s new athletic complex!
Fairfield Community Schools will be hosting its Fair In The Field community outing from 2-7 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, celebrating the new athletic arenas on the east side of the campus. This will be the official dedication for the new softball and baseball fields, along with the tennis courts.
The dedication will take place at 6 p.m. on the baseball field with select Fairfield administration and community supporters.
The public is welcomed and encouraged to attend the free event! We'll see you there!

Bell schedules for our four buildings are set for the 2023-24 school year. Please see the image that corresponds to your school! We also have the schedules on each of the school's homepages on our Fairfield K12 website for reference as well.

Carrying over from last year's momentum, we will continue to do a weekly Fairfield sports wrap each Monday.
Girls golf dove into the 2023-24 season with three matches last week.
The lid lifter had Fairfield finish second at last Monday’s Goshen Invite, shooting a 424. Leading the way for Fairfield was Addison Mast with a 97, which was third-best in the tournament. Bella Blosser was sixth at 103, Mallory McGowen was ninth at 105 and Paige Lantz rounded the scoring marks with a 120. Adie Holsopple was the fifth score at 140.
Concord won the team title with a 419.
Fairfield didn’t fare nearly as well Thursday at the NorthWood Invite, scoring 437 to fall to 10th overall. Mast did, however, shoot a personal best 79 to finish ninth overall in the loaded tournament. Penn scorched McCormick’s layout to shoot 293 to win the trophy.
Mast continued to elevate her game, taking medalist honors with a championship 85 to win the Fremont Invite on Saturday. Blosser added a tenth-place score of 98 to help Fairfield to a 408 and second overall in the team standings, chasing Fremont’s 386 title score.

Our new food service system, Linq Connect, is in place. See the statement from our food service director as well as the easy-to-use information to get the app and get started!

Fairfield Community Schools sent 71 staff members - that's almost 50 percent of our teachers, school counselors, social workers, and administrators - to the PLC at Work Conference in Lincolnshire, IL earlier this week.
Over the span of three days, our team learned more about the Professional Learning Community process and how it can be used at Fairfield to increase student achievement. Educating our students is our "why," and when almost half of our staff volunteer some of their last days of summer break to learn more about how working together can help all of our students achieve at high levels, the 2023-24 school year looks like it's off to a tremendous start!

There is always a need for substitute teachers, and we would love to have you!
