January is School Board Appreciation Month, and with it, Fairfield Community Schools took time at the recent school board meeting to show its appreciation for the work our board members put into making our school corporation great!
Among the appreciation was a thank you poster made by the classes at New Paris Elementary School, signed by students in each class. Board Vice President Brian Wogoman and Fairfield Assistant Superintendent Monica Kegerreis are shown checking out the poster during the meeting.
We thank Board President Sarah Elledge, Vice President Brian Wogoman, Treasurer Tyler Rensberger, and Board Members Marilee Keim and Aaron Rink, for all of their work and dedication to Fairfield!
First big snow of the new year, and first opportunity for the kids to get out and play in it! All three elementary schools were making snow men. Who did it better?

Fairfield Community Schools would like to recognize two of our choir members for being selected to the 2024 Indiana Music Educators Association All-State Honor Choir! Seniors Paige Lantz and Branden Diener were both chosen from an audition of over 100 students from across the state to perform tomorrow (Jan. 13) at the Embassy Theatre in Fort Wayne.
Congrats to Paige and Branden for quite an honor!

Friendly reminder that the kids are off on Monday!

Fairfield Community Schools would like to congratulate six of our musicians for being accepted into the 2024 Indiana Music Educators Association All-State Honor Band.
Our band members chosen to represent the All-State Honor Band are Chase Buckholz, Angelia Ellison, Michael Howe, Jacob Otis, Carter Streit and Matthew Thomas.
The honor is given to elite high school musicians which are then gathered to perform at the IMEA Professional Development Conference later this month.
Congrats to our musicians on a well-deserved honor!

Fairfield will be providing a sweet treat, and dessert, too! The Winter Spectacular performances are quickly approaching!

Fairfield Community Schools are on a two-hour delay for Tuesday, Jan. 9.

If there's a bright side, the days are slowly getting longer. We'll see you back in class tomorrow!

Typing a message that isn't real.

A turn of the calendar to 2024 has our Fairfield family wishing you the best in the new year!

From our Fairfield family to yours, Merry Christmas!

A note that we are taking a little break for the hustle as well!

Have a wonderful winter break! We will see you all in a couple weeks!

Winter is officially here, for those who celebrate the occasion!

The kids are building for the holiday, in a good, communal way!
Jeff McClure’s Building Trades class spent time this morning shopping for gifts to give local families in need. All of the purchases were brought back to Fairfield High School to be wrapped and then distributed to selected families who could use an extra hand with gift giving this holiday season.
Well done everyone, way to bring some holiday cheer to those who could use a boost.

As winter break approaches, winter sports are already in full swing! All three of our programs had home games this past week. See how they did with the weekly recap below:

DayInTheLife - Becoming A Bulldog
Fairfield High School senior Jenna Harlan wasn't quite prepared for one of the biggest moments of her life. Harlan was selected by the Community Foundation of Elkhart County as a 2023-24 Lilly Endowment Scholarship winner, which allows her a full ride to any college or university in the state of Indiana. Want to guess on where she really wants to go?
Read about the moments leading up to the announcement, and how the phone call went with mom in our story below. We will also post separate posts with videos capturing the moments.

This past Saturday, Dec. 9, the FJSHS Robotics Team ("The Pixelators") and the MEMS Robotics Team ("Masta Peeps") competed at the FIRST LEGO League Challenge Semi-State Robotics competition at Purdue University Fort Wayne.
The Fairfield Pixelators, dressed in dark blue and coached by Becky and Jim Balon, bettered their qualifying round score at Concord a few weeks ago with a 250 in Fort Wayne on the robot challenge board. Older robots and technology delays didn't stop the Pixelators this year - way to go team!
The MEMS Masta Peeps, dressed in light blue and coached by Tim Eichorst, improved from their qualifier as well, scoring 150 points on the table. Every member of the team scored points on their mission during at least one of the three robot rounds. The team also saw improvement in their Innovation Project and Core Values from the qualifier.
Both teams represented their school and community well! Way to go!
Also, thank you to our parents not only for their support, but for offering up some pics from the Fort Wayne Semi-state!
