Fairfield graduated senior Alec Hershberger was honored again at the state level by making his second straight Prep Baseball Report (PBR) Class 3-A All-State Team!
Hershberger, who was also a 2022 PBR All-Stater, was 7-3 in 11 appearances this past season, tossing four complete games, two shutouts and a no-hitter. He struck out 106 batters to move him to over 300 for his career, which is now the program standard, and held batters to a .170 batting average for the season.
Hershberger, who was also an IBCA Indiana North-South All-Star, was joined by St. Joe's Jayce Lee and Zac Stawski as well as John Glenn's Brycen Hannah as area selections for 3-A.
Also of local note on the PBR All-State lists were 2-A selection Max Engle of Westview, who is the son of Fairfield athletic director Mark Engle, as well as Northridge's Gavin Collins in Class 4-A.
